In early 2017, nine BCD Travel “ambassadors” visited L`Ecole de Choix, the School of Choice, in Mirebalais to paint buildings and gather impressions for colleagues back home. BCD’s Haiti Project supports L`Ecole de Choix. Pictured: Sherron Burgess and Kathy Jackson play basketball with the children during a break. Last year, employees across the globe raised US$50,000 for the school, a portion of the US$750,000 the BCD Travel Foundation has pledged over five years to help fund operations.
BCD Travel won the Innovation Award at the 2017 TM Travel Awards in Luxembourg for creating a new way to book hotels using the TripSource® solution. The peer-voted award was presented by industry publication Travel Magazine. BCD Travel employee Homer McEwen puts his passion about technology to music. McEwen, aka KillaDBA (the DBA stands for database administrator), writes and records songs about Microsoft’s SQL Server. In April 2017 he performed at a convention at Microsoft’s headquarters campus in Redmond, Washington.
