Towards Employment
Towards Employment empowers individuals to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through employment. We connect people to careers - helping people prepare, get, and keep a job; and then advance – so we change people’s lives, advance businesses, and strengthen community. We have over 40 years of experience helping people gain tools to find a job, navigate life’s obstacles, and secure a long-term career. We partner with over 300 businesses who have confidence in our training programs and personal coaching to prepare new and current employees for career success. We use learnings from rigorously evaluated program operations to influence the wider system and promote greater economic mobility and more equitable access to opportunity for all of NEO residents. TE also operates Bloom Bakery, a social venture where artisan-crafted baked goods are enriched with opportunity, allowing individuals to find meaningful employment and a path to self-sufficiency.
Purpose
Enhance the economic mobility of low-income individuals and their families by increasing skills through career readiness and soft skill training, credentialed training, paid internships; increasing income through job placement, coaching for retention and advancement (whether that means moving to a new employer or advancing along an internal career pathway); and strengthening families by providing parenting skills, financial literacy and coaching, and other wraparound supports that enhance stability and create an environment for families to thrive.
