Lou got his start in the 1940’s working alongside his father in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood where he & his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati's Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Aficionados of Chicago-style deep dish pizza lined the streets on opening day for just a taste. Lou’s sons, Marc & Rick, have carried on Lou’s vision of making the greatest deep dish pizza on the planet. Each pizza is handmade from scratch using the finest and freshest ingredients. The next generation of this family owned & operated company, now with 48 locations & growing, has continued to prosper thanks to dedicated staff & loyal customers. Lou Malnati’s Tastes of Chicago division ships more than 250,000 pizzas a year, & the catering division caters to more than 10,000 families, businesses & organizations each year.
