Calspan Corporation has been a part of the fabric of WNY for more than 70 years, and is globally recognized for research, development, testing and innovation in the Aerospace and Transportation industries. The company is headquartered on Genesee Street, where it operates a transportation safety campus, performing crash testing, tire testing, and seat belt & child restraint seat testing. Additionally, the company performs accident investigations and crash research on behalf of the United States Department of Transportation. Through its Transonic Wind Tunnel and fleet of airborne testbeds, Calspan Aerospace conducts research, development, testing and evaluation on aircraft, weapons and avionics systems, trains the world’s test pilots and provides Upset Recovery Training for corporate flight departments. Calspan Aerospace operates from a dedicated facility in Niagara Falls, NY, where it also is the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at the Niagara Falls International airport.
