Alkermes is a leader in innovative medicines that address the unmet needs and challenges of people living with serious, chronic diseases. As a fully integrated global biopharmaceutical company, Alkermes applies our scientific expertise, proprietary technologies and global resources to develop products that are designed to make a meaningful difference in the way patients manage their disease. Our people are developing new medicines that address some of the most serious public health and mental illness challenges, including opioid addiction, depression, and schizophrenia. The continued strength of our business and commercial portfolio are driven by the increasing demand for our proprietary products, VIVITROL® and ARISTADA®. We are committed to providing patients and caregivers with medicines that offer benefits in terms of safety, efficacy and ultimately, improved health outcomes. One of our core values is Unwavering Commitment, and we take that commitment very seriously when it comes to creating an employee experience and culture that fosters growth and shared success.
Alkermes in Action, our community service program, provides employees the opportunity to dedicate time to give back to the communities in which we live and work. This year's community service day in June 2017 marked our largest volunteer program ever, with more than 350 employees participating across 13 different projects.
We partnered with the charitable organization, Canstruction®, to build can wall structures showcasing our values. More than 200 Alkermes employees in Waltham collaborated to build the 21-foot structures. Following the event, the 16,000 cans (5,000 lbs.) of food were donated to the Greater Food Bank of Boston!
We are strong believers in continuous learning and collaboration. Each year our interns gain hands-on experience across the company and bring new ideas and perspectives to our organization.
To show our support for people affected by serious mental illness, Alkermes is the proud national elite sponsor of NAMIWalks. Employees bring friends and family to join the annual local walk in Boston and walks across the country.
