As the organ procurement organization (OPO) for Maryland (with the exception of Montgomery, Prince George's, and Charles Counties), The Living Legacy Foundation (The LLF) facilitates donation and transplantation in area hospitals, provides donor family support, and educates hospitals and the general public about the life-saving power of organ, eye, and tissue donation. We are passionate about saving and enhancing lives while honoring the legacy and generosity of our donors and their families.
On Saturday, September 9th, The LLF hosted the 9th Annual Donate Life Family Fun Run in Baltimore. Over 2,500 people came together to honor donors, celebrate recipients, and inspire everyone to give the gift of life.
One of the biggest celebrations of the year for The LLF team is National Green and Blue Day - a national observance in April meant to raise awareness for organ, eye, and tissue donation.
The LLF is committed to providing quality state of the art training and education to our staff team members and hospital partners. In The LLF's simulation center, participants are able to enhance their clinical and family support skills.
The LLF's Social Responsibility Committee works to support the community through donations and volunteer time. Recent efforts include volunteer time at the Penn North Kids Safe Zone and Moveable Feast, as well as donations to the Baltimore International Rescue Committee, Paul's Place, BARCs, and UMMC's Domestic Violence Bridge Program.
